Kapela zagra 18 stycznia. Obok Grohla pojawią się muzycy, którzy brali udział w realizacji dokumentu, dokładny skład formacji nie jest znany. Należy także przypuszczać, że będzie to jednorazowy projekt.
"Sound City" opowiada o nieistniejącym już studiu nagraniowym, w którym powstawało "Nevermind" Nirvany, a także "Iowa" Slipknot czy "Rumours" Fleetwood Mac.
W filmie, którego reżyserem jest lider Foo Fighters, występują m.in. Tom Petty, Trent Reznor, Corey Taylor, Lars Ulrich, Butch Vig, Josh Homme, Stevie Nicks i sam Grohl.
Przypomnijmy, że w marcu ukaże się soundtrack do filmu.
